<P><FONT color=#4455a6>根據調查，超過 70% 的美國夫妻婚前就住 在一起。研究發現，19% 的在訂婚前同居的 人表示曾考慮過離婚；12% 在訂婚後同居的 人表示考慮過離婚；僅有 10% 結婚後才住 到一起的人表示他們考慮過離婚。</FONT></P>

<P><FONT color=#4455a6>身兼高級研究員的心理學家羅德斯（Galena Rhoades）表示：「我們認為，部分沒有對婚姻做出清楚承諾就住在一起的情侶，最後結婚的部分原因可能是既然已經同居就結婚吧。」（“We think that some couples who move in together without a clear commitment to marriage may wind up sliding into marriage partly because they are already cohabiting.”）</FONT></P>
